HJI Group conducted planning and feasibility study on the expansion of Baise University for its energy-conserving and environmentally green, new university campus at Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of PR China.
The new campus of Baise University is located at the north of Baise city and in an enclosed mountain valley with a total land area of 100 ha. HJI Group’s assignment involves planning and feasibility study on utilities, classroom and dormitory buildings and library facilities, and service/shopping facilities. Major buildings and structures include Library, Administration Building, Gymnasium, Business School, Politic and Law School, Chinese and Foreign Language Building, Physics Electronic and Math Building, Chemistry and Biology Building, Art and Science Education Building, and Dormitories, Engineering Experimental and Training Center, Public Teaching Center, Public Experimental Center, and service/shopping facilities. It also includes the installation of a 3.86 million kWh photovoltaic (PV) power system and development and construction of a Green Campus Sustainability Center.

All buildings and structures totaling to a building area of 1,729,700 square feet have been designed and constructed in accordance with applicable national and international standards and codes. Campus design has incorporated detailed geotechnical study for soil and foundation stabilization, campus traffic and transportation plans, fire truck routing, and emergency evacuation plans (including temporary shelter, emergency evacuation routes, and emergency exits), and parking plans promoting pedestrian and bicycle traffic. Low-carbon and resource-efficient campus management features were introduced on the campus, including a photovoltaic power generation system, high-efficiency heat pumps for air conditioning and hot water system, and on-site wastewater treatment and water reuse for campus landscaping (2,000 cubic meter per day).
